Affiliations & Collaborations

A collaboration between Jewish Senior Life and the Eastman School of Music Piano Department brings classically trained musicians to perform for residents of The Summit at Brighton. Under the direction of Rebecca Penneys, Program Director and Professor of Piano at the Eastman School of Music, students destined to be future performers on the concert stage play beautiful melodies on a concert piano acquired specifically for the purpose if this music series, and made possible through the generosity of the estate of Milton Feier.

On March 1, 2010, Jewish Senior Life and Nazareth College entered into an affiliation agreement which provides for high quality continuing education for Jewish Senior Life residents and practical experience and training for Nazareth students starting their careers in the medical profession. Residents may audit courses on the Nazareth campus, or attend lectures conducted by Nazareth Professors at The Summit at Brighton. The Jewish Senior Life campus serves as a clinical training site for Nazareth students in the areas of physical therapy, art and music therapy, social work, nursing and field work disciplines such as sociology and psychology.

The Jewish Home of Rochester, Jewish Family Service and the Geriatric Psychiatry Program of the University of Rochester together form the GEMM Care Collaborative to provide geriatric medical and mental health care to homebound and mobility-challenged older adults. GEMM Care links home-based geriatric primary care with the resources of a university-based mental health service and community-based counseling and care management services.

Jewish Senior Life is a member of the Senior Health Alliance of Greater Rochester (SHAGR), the New York State Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA), the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS), and a Charter Member of the National Nursing Home Advancing Excellence Campaign.
