The Jewish Home of Rochester

At the Jewish Home of Rochester, we’re dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of our residents through skilled nursing, medical, recreation therapy, social work and spiritual care services. Our dedication to honoring the preferences and different care needs of our residents is part of our family-among-families culture - to treat your family members as we do our own. Our 362-bed nursing home is designed to provide various levels of long term care to meet those individual needs.

A major renovation of each of our resident rooms includes significant changes in the physical environment, incorporating unique senior design features, including flat-screen televisions, new furniture, carpeted rooms, increased lighting and integrated nurse call systems. We’ve also added curio cabinets outside each room to personalize each resident’s space. 

Dining areas have new wood floors, bright wall-coverings, improved lighting, comfortable seating and new tables. Meals are now served restaurant-style on new china to make resident dining experiences interactive and enjoyable. See a sample resident menu here.

The Jewish Home Skilled Nursing Center provides these services:

• Long Term Care for those who require health care and assistance with daily living activities on an ongoing basis.
• Transitional Care at the Weinberg Manson Transitional Care program, designed for those who need short-term inpatient care after a hospitalization for illness, injury or surgery. 
• Outpatient Rehabilitation located in our state-of-the-art Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, designed for those who need rehabilitative therapies that aid in their continuing to live at home. 
• Memory Care for those who need full-time care in a stimulating and secure environment.  
• Adult Day Health Care Program for individuals who need health care, stimulation and socialization during the day. 
• Hospice Care that focuses on compassion, comfort and quality of life for the resident and their family, so that each day may be lived to the fullest. Ask about our specialized Jewish Hospice Program.

Throughout the Jewish Home, our highly-trained skilled nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants provide full-time care, seven days a week. We also feature full-time, on-site medical staff and geriatric nurse practitioners well-experienced in long term care.

In addition, the Jewish Home offers residents the following services and amenities:

• Leo's Delicatessen. The Delicatessen offers traditional deli sandwiches, salads, pastries, and hot entrees for eat-in or take-out. The Deli features a large dining area, a new carving station and service counter, and resembles those located in larger metropolitan areas of the country. • Café. A unique daily experience for residents, their families and guests to enjoy desserts and refreshments each afternoon from 2:00-4:00 pm. The Café, located on the first floor within the Library, has been newly renovated and is a very popular meeting place. 
• Library. Residents enjoy privacy, quiet time, reading and computer use in the Library, located on the first floor of the Jewish Home. Daily newspapers, videos, books and computers are available for resident enjoyment. The newly remodeled Library is designed to complement the home-like setting, with additional space for casual interaction, as well as reading and other activities. 
• The Sokol Pavilion and Porch. This bright, enclosed porch has heated floors for year-round enjoyment. Located in the Street of Shops, residents and their visitors eat and socialize in this beautiful, warm and inviting space.
• Resident Bank. Personal banking opportunities are made available to residents on a daily basis. Residents may conduct their own transactions Monday through Friday from 9:00-11:30 am and 2:00-4:00 pm. The bank is located in the main lobby of the Jewish Home. An ATM is also available in the Street of Shops for resident and guest convenience. 
• Art Therapy, Spiritual and Music Programs and other activities are conducted in various locations throughout the Jewish Home. The Feinbloom Creative Arts Therapy program includes painting, marquetry classes and other activities for residents’ artistic enjoyment.  See sample activity calendar here.
• Bessie W. and Susan J. Spector Medical & Wellness Center. Located on the main floor of the Jewish Home, the center houses our medical offices, including dental, vision, mental health, and health and fitness.
• Free Wifi Internet Access. The Jewish Home offers free wireless Internet access throughout the entire building for the convenience of residents, their families and visitors.

For the safety of residents and visitors, all visitors must sign the visitors’ log at the concierge desk at the front entrance upon arrival and departure. Visiting hours at the Jewish Home are 10:00 am-10:00 pm daily. Click here for a map and directions to the Jewish Home.
