Short-term Rehabilitation Services at the Jewish Home
Whether it’s illness, surgery, stroke, or heart failure, the time after a serious medical issue can be concerning. The road back to independence is as much a mental and emotional journey as it is a physical one, which is why our short-term rehabilitation programs are built around providing highly personalized, effective medical treatment in a hospitality setting. So you can recover quickly in comfort and get back to being you.
If you need short-term rehabilitation after a hospital stay, we offer a range of specialized care programs to patients of all faiths and ethnicities. Each program is supported by a focused, highly qualified on-site medical staff. These include:
- myHeart™ Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program
- Orthopedic Program
- Stroke Recovery Program
- Medically Complex Program

A Reputation for Quality Care
You have a lot of options when it comes to choosing a rehabilitation facility or program. Jewish Senior Life continues to be the preferred provider for multiple local hospitals and is the only Rochester rehabilitation program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent organization that sets stringent standards of care and recognizes only the most qualified providers.
A Collaborative, Tailored Approach
We have a full medical team working to get you back to your daily routine, and most importantly, ensure you don’t return to the hospital. On-site personnel include board-certified physicians in geriatrics and internal medicine, geriatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physiatrists (doctors specializing in rehabilitation). Along with a 24-hour nursing staff and certified physical/occupational therapists, our entire medical team collaborates to develop plans focused on your unique needs and goals.
In addition to physical and occupational therapy sessions seven days a week, we work around your schedule and preferences to provide a wide range of services and programs designed to rehabilitate both body and mind:
- Pain management
- Speech and language therapy
- Low-vision and functional-vision services
- Dietary and recreation services
- Incontinence therapy
- Massage therapy
- Bariatric services
- Tai chi and stress management classes
- Social work services
- Patient and family education
- Music therapy
- Pet therapy
- Recreation therapy
